Medical Meeting Updates

Challenges continue as planners are tasked with new rules and regulations which vary from country to country. In addition to compliance issues and meal caps, planners are often faced with new challenges and must stay current to perform their planning duties.

Learner Outcomes:

  • Global compliance and challenges in different countries
  • GDPR - what does it mean for you
  • Med Tech Code of Ethics, conference vetting and sponsorships
  • Safety and security for your attendees

Speaker:  Judith Johnson, CMP, HMCC, President and CEO, Tracdanmic Consulting

How GDPR is Impacting Medical and Healthcare Meetings

The introduction of GDPR has meant that data management has become core to businesses resulting in a re-evaluation of internal processes and systems and ultimately the way they work with both clients and healthcare professionals (participants). The next step after managing the tactical steps of the data/privacy risk is to manage the business risk to our sector and look at the whole business problem facing medical and healthcare meetings to ensure long term success and sustainability.

Learner Outcomes:

  • The importance of data privacy and the impact on corporations and their meetings
  • The impact that can exist when organizations have not addressed the full implications of the GDPR and the effects on its meeting participants (data subjects)
  • The current state of data privacy issues and GDPR in medical and healthcare meeting & events

Speaker:  Bruce Smith, Co-Founder, Northpointe Meetings and Incentives

How to Use Video to Energize Medical and Healthcare Meetings and Events

Video has become an essential part of how those in the healthcare convention marketing, exhibits, meetings and events industry teach, train, market and communicate. It’s easy to see why. In a field that rivals any for jargon, healthcare must also contend with a subject matter that is quite literally hidden away inside.

In even the best of circumstances, it’s possible for medical professionals to misunderstand text-based documentation and best practices — those difficulties only increase as physicians, assistants, administrative staff and others are pressed to share more knowledge more quickly — and do so potentially with audiences that may not share their first language.

In such a world, video has been met with a welcome relief — a simple tool that can quickly show more detail than could ever be described in text, and that can be shared and reviewed easily anytime and anywhere it’s needed.

Learner Outcomes:

  • How to use video effectively to promote your event, before, during and after
  • Improve education and on-demand learning opportunities
  • Create opportunities for educational library resource

Speaker:  Jacqueline Beaulieu, HMCC, Director, Strategic Marketing and Client Engagement, Poretta & Orr Inc.
