Proposed 1 Clock Hour Domain I: Marketing

Social media has drastically changed the way people communicate, make purchasing decisions and experience our events. As consumers look to social media and other digital channels to discover experiences that they want to be a part of and interact with brands, what types of content do they seek and trust most? Believe it or not, the content brands are spending lots of money to produce are not the most trusted by consumers. It’s the content consumers themselves are creating and sharing online everyday - user-generated content (UGC) - that is considered the most authentic. In this session, we’ll discuss the evolution of brand created content, user generated content, and influencer marketing. You’ll walk away with ideas for how to incorporate user generated content into your event marketing campaigns, build trust with your consumers, and design an experience focused on the attendee worth sharing.

Learner outcomes:

  • Learn how consumer decision making habits have evolved with social media.
  • Discover new ideas for incorporating user generated content into your event marketing campaigns.
  • Identify best practices for turning attendees into event advocates.
Speakers:
  • Alex Plaxen, MTA, VP Experience Strategy, Nifty Method, Nifty Method Marketing & Events
