Gabriel Shifferaw is the current Sustainability Coordinator at the Metro Toronto Convention Centre who works closely with the Engineering team to track and manage the waste, water, and energy consumption of the entire building. Gabriel runs the CSR activities of the building which include MTCC Donates, a community outreach program that the Metro Toronto Convention Centre has branded to donate all leftover food and material goods to local food banks & organizations such as Second Harvest & Habitat for Humanity. During the 2017/2018 Fiscal year, the MTCC donated 96,709 kg of food equaling approximately 322,363 fresh meals that went to feed students and community members across the GTA.
