Conference Services & Events Manager, Butler Snow LLP

Shannon Jones, CMP, Conference Services and Events Manager at Butler Snow LLP, has lived in Nashville for over 14 years. Her first encounter with Nashville was a college internship with Citadel Communications where she fell in love with the city and never looked back. Shannon started her career as a meeting professional in the hospitality industry as a banquet captain at Big River. She quickly moved up in Nashville’s hospitality world helping to open Jimmy Buffett’s Margaritaville Nashville and then The Pub Nashville in the Sales and Events Department. From there, Shannon expanded her industry knowledge and experience as Member Relations and Events Director at Westhaven Golf Club. She currently works for Butler Snow LLP as Conference Services and Events Manager in the Marketing Department where she plans and manages the firm’s meetings and events. Shannon also volunteers on the Board of Directors for Meeting Professionals International, Tennessee Chapter. She has served the Tennessee Chapter for 8 years in roles of Special Events, Education, Membership, and most recently as the 2019-2020 President. Shannon is currently the Immediate Past President of MPI Tennessee as well as the 2021 Chair for the Chapter Member Advisory Council (CMAC), one of MPI’s Global Committees. In the past, Shannon has held other volunteer roles with Davis House Child Advocacy Center as the Co-Chair to their annual Button Ball as well as an active role on the committee for the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation’s 65 Roses Ball. Shannon loves her career in Nashville’s Meeting and Events community and her volunteer roles giving back to the city and the meetings industry we love. She says that she is one of the few Nashville locals that still get goosebumps looking at the neon signs of Broadway on a Saturday Night.
