Tyra Warner, Ph.D., Esq, CMP is the department chair of Hospitality and Tourism Management at the College of Coastal Georgia. Published and widely quoted in academic and trade publications, Tyra’s expertise is in legal and crisis preparedness issues for the meetings, events, and hospitality industries. Her 25-year meetings industry career has included management roles in hotels, travel, destination marketing, associations, catering, law, and academia. She has received national recognition for her contributions to best practices initiatives with the Events Industry Council and Meeting Professionals International. She is one of only two people in the world who is a practicing attorney, has a Ph.D. in Hospitality, and has earned the Certified Meeting Professional (CMP) designation.
